The O2 arena allows one A4-size bag or smaller per person, but separately excludes backpacks and several other bag types. Wembley's general limit is 297 × 210 × 210 mm; your event organiser may use different rules. Check the concert information as well as the venue policy. A bag's small dimensions alone do not establish that you can bring it inside.
Official pages checked October 8, 2026. These are general-policy snapshots for The O2 arena and Wembley Stadium, not confirmation for every event or another venue with a similar name.
Compare the venue rules
| Venue and event scope | Size and number | Transparency and pockets | Storage | Checked and official source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The O2 arena: general event policy | A4 or smaller; one bag per person. Backpacks, travel cases, laptop bags, camera bags and large tote bags are excluded. | No general clear-bag requirement or pocket-count limit stated on the checked bag-policy page. Other restrictions still apply. | External bag storage listed at £10 per bag. Confirm the collection deadline; official pages differ. | 2026-10-08: bag policy |
| Wembley Stadium: general policy; event-owner exceptions | 297 mm high × 210 mm wide × 210 mm deep. Use the actual bag size, not a partly filled or folded shape. | No general transparency or pocket-count requirement stated on this checked policy page. Check the named event. | No storage arrangement is established by the checked bag-policy page; confirm separately before bringing an unsuitable bag. | 2026-10-08: bag policy |
“Not stated” is not an exemption or permission. Read the event page and pre-event messages for additional conditions. Wembley specifically points visitors to the event's rules for organisers such as UEFA, NFL and Rugby; do not transfer a football policy to an NFL event.
The O2: check bag type and the collection deadline
A backpack does not become an accepted handbag just because it is below A4. Decide what you will bring before leaving accommodation, particularly if you are coming from work with a laptop bag or arriving with travel luggage.
The dedicated bag-policy page says storage closes one hour after the show. Section 7.8 of the venue terms says 30 minutes after the event. These statements conflict. Confirm the deadline for your show with the venue or bag-storage staff; do not arrange a late collection around either statement alone.
Wembley: measure the bag itself
Wembley says a half-full or folded bag will not be accepted merely because it appears smaller. Measure the actual bag and check the organiser's instructions. Plan belongings around both checks rather than buying an oversized bag and expecting to compress it at the entrance.
If your route includes sightseeing before the concert, storage may need to happen before you reach the stadium. Confirm a provider's address, availability and collection time, and keep the event ticket accessible independently of stored belongings.
Could a slim crossbody work?
Norevix Crossbody Bag 2.0 lists empty external dimensions of 19 × 13.5 × 2 cm for Regular and 22 × 15 × 3 cm for Large. These are smaller than the stated Wembley dimensions and an A4 sheet in their two front dimensions. That comparison does not guarantee admission, establish usable capacity or override a bag-type or event restriction.
Use the Regular versus Large guide and measure your essentials. Do not assume a thin bag can also hold an outdoor layer, water or purchases.
Before the show: a four-step check
- Confirm the exact venue, event and latest organiser instructions.
- Check dimensions, bag type, number of bags and the permitted contents separately.
- Resolve storage and its collection deadline before travelling.
- Keep your ticket ready, then close the bag after use and follow security instructions.
Quick questions
Do all concert bags have to be clear? No universal rule applies. These checked London pages differ from many American clear-bag rules; use the stadium and festival policy comparison.
Can a small backpack go into The O2? Its general policy explicitly excludes backpacks. Ask the venue about your specific event rather than relying on size alone.
For the journey, use the separate London transport day-bag guide. Transport carriage and concert admission are separate checks.
