How to measure your essentials before choosing a small bag

To check whether your essentials fit a small bag, measure the items and the bag opening, then test the full load with the zipper closed. An exterior length such as 22 cm is not an interior length: fabric, seams, curves and the opening can reduce usable space.

Use the exterior-size worksheet below for a numerical warning before asking about usable space. It compares one item with the published empty bag exterior, allows swapping the three axes and never confirms that an item fits. A straight-sided warning is not a diagonal-insertion test.

A simple measurement worksheet

Record How Why
Longest rigid item Measure length, width and thickness with its case or cover. It must pass through the opening and sit inside without stressing the zipper.
Total stack Put the phone, wallet, keys and other items together as you would pack them. Several thin items can make one thick load.
Usable opening Measure the clear zipper opening, avoiding the curved ends and any fixed dividers. The opening may be narrower than the widest exterior panel.
Closed packed bag Measure its maximum outside thickness after closing. It shows whether the load changes the bag's profile or an airline-size comparison.

Run the fit test in this order

  1. List the items that must fit at the same time. Include cases, cables and keys rather than testing each item alone.
  2. Start with the largest rigid item. Try its natural orientation through the opening; do not force it or bend an item that should stay flat.
  3. Add the remaining items. Keep the zipper path clear and close the bag without stretching the fabric. If the closure is under tension, remove or redistribute the load.
  4. Wear or hold the packed bag and check access to the item you use most. A technically fitting item may still make the bag awkward to use.

If you cannot handle the bag before buying, ask for usable interior dimensions and opening width, ideally with the exact item shown going in and the bag closed. Do not infer fit from a product photo or the diagonal of a rectangular exterior measurement.

What the Norevix numbers can tell you

Norevix Crossbody Bag 2.0 publishes outside dimensions of 19 × 13.5 × 2 cm (Regular) and 22 × 15 × 3 cm (Large). These are useful for comparing the two sizes and for a first check against a venue or airline limit. They do not verify interior clearance, zipper opening width or whether a specific phone, passport, reader or bottle fits. The size guide explains this limit; the airline measurement guide covers the packed exterior.

Compare one item with the published exterior

Measure one rigid item with its case in centimetres. This straight-sided comparison allows swapping the three axes. It does not model diagonal insertion, flexible fabric, interior shape, the zipper opening or several items together.

Published empty exteriors: Regular 19 × 13.5 × 2 cm; Large 22 × 15 × 3 cm. These are seller specifications, not usable pocket dimensions. Measurements and loaded shape can vary.

Enter one item with its case. This check cannot confirm fit.

Use your measurements to screen models

Match your item measurements to usable opening and interior evidence. An exterior specification is only an initial screen.
