TGV INOUI vs OUIGO Luggage: Suitcases, Hand Bags and Transfers

Ce guide n’a pas encore été traduit. Lisez la version anglaise. Lire en anglais

Check the operator on each French rail ticket: ordinary TGV INOUI luggage and the included OUIGO allowance use different suitcase counts and sizes. A crossbody used for tickets and payment still needs a place in your bag-count plan. Do not carry an airline arrangement across to a train without checking.

Official pages checked October 8, 2026. The comparison concerns ordinary TGV INOUI luggage in France and OUIGO France; international partnerships, specialist equipment and other operators need separate checks.

Compare the train rules in a saved checklist

Use the TGV INOUI and OUIGO France rule comparison, then keep only the service on your ticket and add your next museum stop. The cards were checked October 11, 2026 and retain the conflicting OUIGO hand-bag sizes. They do not establish an extra allowance for a worn crossbody.

Compare the included ordinary bags

Service Ordinary larger luggage Hand luggage Extra check
TGV INOUI Up to two suitcases, each 70 × 90 × 50 cm. One item, 40 × 30 × 15 cm. Special luggage replaces one suitcase under its own rules.
OUIGO France One cabin bag, 55 × 35 × 25 cm. One item, 40 × 30 × 15 cm on the French luggage page. Check whether extra or bulky luggage is included in your fare or needs an option.

Sources: SNCF Connect's luggage guidance and OUIGO France's luggage page. TGV INOUI requires you to carry the whole load yourself in one go and label the luggage. Permitted maximums do not show how comfortably you can handle the packed arrangement.

Why some English OUIGO guidance gives a smaller size

The English OUIGO luggage page still lists 36 × 27 × 15 cm for hand luggage. The French operator page and SNCF Connect list 40 × 30 × 15 cm. These official pages disagree; the reason and transition date are not established here.

Confirm the instructions for your exact booking, especially when a bag falls between those sizes. Keep the relevant policy link with the booking information rather than relying on an undated search snippet. This discrepancy does not mean every bag below either size is approved regardless of its contents or type.

Count the bags you actually plan to carry

Write a line for the suitcase, backpack, handbag or crossbody that will remain separate during boarding. Decide which one takes the small-bag role. A small bag worn across the torso is not automatically an extra allowance.

If you intend to combine bags, rehearse that with the complete load. Check that the larger bag closes normally with the smaller bag inside. A packing plan requiring you to empty the crossbody at the station is different from one that keeps the access kit ready.

Plan the connection before choosing a day bag

A trip can include Eurostar, a French high-speed train and city transport. List each leg and its operator. Use the Eurostar route comparison separately, then use the full-trip packing list to divide main luggage from daily access.

Work backwards from the next destination. If a museum visit comes before accommodation check-in, resolve main-luggage storage before picking the small bag. Keep ticket access and required documents available when the larger luggage is stored; prepare independent access using the phone-backup checklist.

Where a compact crossbody fits in the plan

Norevix Crossbody Bag 2.0 is a compact candidate for the smaller access role. Its listed external sizes are Regular 19 × 13.5 × 2 cm and Large 22 × 15 × 3 cm. They do not establish usable interior space, complete-load closure or acceptance for every booking.

Choose the items needed during the transfer first. Compare the document-storage arrangement, then measure the combined items. Clothes, water and bulky equipment need their own verified storage space.

Five checks before departure

  1. Record every service and the exact luggage entitlement on its booking.
  2. Count bags and measure the filled exterior, including any relevant handles or protrusions.
  3. Confirm any additional-luggage option before arrival.
  4. Rehearse moving the complete load and retrieving tickets.
  5. Resolve luggage storage and collection before a planned museum stop.
